It's the end of the second week of Black History Month, and we have had a great time creating things inspired by some of our African roots! Last week, we took a look at what kindergarten created after reading the book, "We Went on Safari". We also read the book in 1st grade. We concentrated on the people of the book. We looked at the way they were dressed and we discussed how some people in Africa carried baskets and bowls on their heads. I demonstrated for the class as they watched in amazement at Ms. Fulton's poise and grace! I really enjoyed how they came out and they are a hit in the hallway. We've been getting compliments from our Lincoln Art Institute patrons. Here are a few to look at now. More will be posted on Artsonia (www.artsonia.com) in the upcoming weeks. It only gets better from here, folks! Stay tuned!
